Bringing women together through music, friendship, growth, and service.
Sing United International and the Heart of Illinois Chorus create a welcoming community where women experience the joy of barbershop and a cappella singing while building musical skills, confidence, and meaningful friendships.
Through rehearsals, performances, leadership, mentoring, and outreach, members find connection, purpose, and opportunities to grow. Every voice is valued, every contribution matters, and music becomes a way to uplift both one another and the wider community.
Come for the singing. Stay for the fun!

Lora Wright has spent her life immersed in harmony, from debuting as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at age 12 to more than 30 years of leading award-winning choruses. She became our director in 2017, bringing experience as a director, medalist, arranger, and international a cappella performer. Raised in a barbershop family—both her grandmother and father were singers—Lora most often sings tenor, but has also performed lead and baritone. Her chorus experience includes Heart of Illinois, Quad City, Metro Mix, St. Louis Harmony, and St. Louis Vocal Project, and she competed internationally with Limelight Quartet after its Region 5 victory.
Lora has served the barbershop community as Young Women in Harmony Coordinator, Communications Coordinator for former Region 5, and Director Coordinator and Director Certification Coordinator for Region 3. In 2024, Region 3 presented her with its Spirit of Harmony Award for her work supporting director certification. Based in Galesburg, Illinois, she continues to sing with the St. Louis Vocal Project Chorus in Harmony, Incorporated, and perform with The Experience Band. Her finely tuned ear and lifelong pursuit of the perfect chord keep our chorus inspired, connected, and ringing.
